Tues:  Read sec 1 and 2 in Earth surface.  Do questions 1-5 on pg.18 and ques. 1-4 on pg 24.

Wed: Read sec 3 and do ques. 1-4 on pg. 28.

Thurs: make sure you have the paper work for science fair

Mon. No school work on Earth cut away project due Wed.

Tues:  Draw 3 stypes of faults.  Label each fault.  State the type of plate movement that creates each fault and write a brief statement.

Wed. Voc. words,  Liquefaction, aftershock, tsunamis, base-isolated building.

Thur.:  Read sec. 3 pages 72-77.  Do ques. 1-4 on page 77.

Fri.:  Create a poster to promote earthquake safety.  Poster should focus on onte of the following:  preparig for an earthquake, what to do during an earthquake,  OR  what to do fter an eathquake.

 Week of 9/21-25

Monday: Read  sec. 1 on Ch 2, then do an outline of the section

Tuesday: Do the questions 1-4  at the end of Sec. 1  on pg. 61

Thursday: If students did not finish the journal writing they are to finish at home.  Write a brief explanation in your own words of why Earthquakes are so common and so often violent along the San Andreas fault.  WARM_UPS ARE DUE FRIDAY.

Friday: Finish the Project of Earth  Due Tuesday 9/29  Remember   watch Scale of the layers and a key. Voc. words:  focus, epicenter, seismic waves, P wave, S wave, surface waves, seismograph, magnitude, Mercalli scale, Richter scale, moment magnitude scale.
